Simbarashe has 12 years’ experience as an investment professional in Zimbabwe having worked under different business units for blue chip rated financial services companies as well as an up and coming investment banking group. This includes working as both a buy side and sell side Research Analysts at Old Mutual Investment Group as an Economic Analyst and as the Research Analyst at Old Mutual Securities and Senior Associate of Research at Akribos Research Services before joining First Mutual Wealth as a Senior Investments Analyst. At First Mutual Wealth Simbarashe was subsequently promoted to Fund Manager and he currently supervises the research function and subsequent portfolio fund management and trading for the FMHL group.
He is a mentor for the National University of Science and Technology winning team for the inaugural CFA Research Challenge Zimbabwe
Simbarashe holds a BSc Honours Degree in Economics with University of Zimbabwe. He passed the CFA Level II Exam, Python Career Track Data Analyst Certified, Investment Professional Association of Zimbabwe member and Judge Member of the Financial Gazette Top Company Survey.
