Professor Dexter Tagwireyi is a pharmacist, toxicologist and academician by profession with close to 20 years of experience. He currently works at the University of Zimbabwe (Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences) where he teaches toxicology and pharmacy related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dexter is a reputed researcher who has published well over 50 journal articles and book chapters in his areas of interest, and is a fellow of the Zimbabwe Academy of Sciences (ZAS). He currently serves in two expert committees of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) and is a board member of the Health Professions Authority (HPA), and the Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe (PCZ). Dexter is also a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT) and is appointed to the World Health Organisation (WHO) roster of snakebite experts in Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree and a PhD in Toxicology both from the University of Zimbabwe. He also holds a Master’s degree in Toxicology (RMIT University, Australia), and an Executive Diploma in Applied Strategy from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM).
