He is a seasoned healthcare administration executive with experience spanning more than 10 years in the private health services provision space. Wellington has a wealth of experience in healthcare services strategy formulation and review, setting up health service facilities, health care administration and healthcare financial modelling.
Prior to joining First Mutual Health Services, Wellington was in the senior management team at South Medical Chitungwiza hospital and worked on numerous projects to transform the hospital into an integrated business unit. He was also instrumental in the establishment of CitiMed Clinics in Harare and Victoria Falls. He also played a pivotal role in setting up the financial structures of the Private Hospitals Association of Zimbabwe and is the Past Vice Board Chairman of the Institute of Directors in Zimbabwe. He sits on various boards for non-profit making organisations.
Wellington holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours from the University of Zimbabwe, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Africa, a Chartered Management Accountant designation from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants United Kingdom, a Chartered Global Management Accountant designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe. He is both a Registered Public Accountant and Legal Practitioner in the Zimbabwean jurisdiction.
