Overview
A product launched in 2019 in line with our mission to promote the wellness of the peoples of Africa. This initiative focuses on a proactive approach to improve the overall wellbeing and quality of life for our members. This is a free benefit to First Mutual Health members which can also be offered to non-members at a cost and encompasses the following:
Managed care
This is a support structure for members with chronic conditions e.g. diabetes or hypertension. Support is in the form of SMS, calls, hospital visits, drugs access.
Chronic drug facility
The cost of drugs is a major concern for all members particularly those with chronic conditions. This facility is designed to help members access chronic drugs easily in conjunction with partner pharmacies.
Individual fitness program
Exercise is a critical element in ensuring a healthy lifestyle and in line with this free dance/fitness classes have been set up for members in selected centres, Download the timetable and list of service providers. Antenatal Classes
Expecting mothers and their partners get a chance to meet and learn how to keep them and their unborn baby healthy and safe. The classes take them through what to expect at every stage of pregnancy, how to deal with the different emotions e.g. fear, exercise, eating healthy, the labour process as well as how to cope with the addition of a new member into the family. These classes also help us to track our members and ensure that the new born is successfully added onto the scheme once they are born. Follow Us to learn more
Corporate Wellness
The increased emphasis on wellness worldwide has made it imperative for employers to implement such programs in the workplace to ensure a positive and healthy working environment. As First Mutual Health we provide health education on various topics and employees’ biomarkers such as blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index are collected as part of health risk assessment. This helps in identifying members who need the managed care and support. After identifying major issues affecting employees, Human Resources is advised on steps to improve the wellbeing of their staff and thereby improve quality of work done.
